“ I wrote one of the first reviews when Buckets opened a few years ago. And they posted it in their kitchen. Now they deserve a post COVID review. Thankfully, they found a way to survive the political pressure placed on many businesses some of which have never reopened. Buckets has become one of the favorite restaurant venues in CENLA. It is owned and managed by a splendid team of professionals. The menu is not "overbearing" nor too confusing. The food is consistently fresh, tasty and served to taste in most instances. I call it people-friendly-food. The fried crawfish are delightful. And the "pulled" potatoes are a great alternate to the crisp French fries. The unique treats are the hush puppies that are unequaled anywhere including the finest restaurant you have ever visited. They are like a fine "cake," large, perfectly fried, and actually like a desert. Bucket's hush puppies are the only hush puppies I ever eat from any restaurant anywhere. They are that wonderful to my taste. Treat yourself and your family to a meal at Buckets. And you will do like me, and come back over and over again. ”
